KLEE 2024 Application Form

The KLEE 2024 Application Form for Integrated Five Year LLB Courses is released at the official website. Candidates have to register before applying for the application form. The application process is completed after the payment of the application fee and uploading of all the documents. For 5-Year LLB, Three-Year LLB Courses.

KLEE 2024 Application Fee

The application fee for KLEE 2024 Exam is given below. Candidates can pay the application fee online as well as offline mode. Online payment can be done via debit card/ credit card/ net banking whereas offline payment can be made in cash at any of the Head and Sub Post Offices in Kerala.

KLEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

LLM

Nativity

Applicant should be an Indian Citizen. However, only those candidates who are of Kerala origin are eligible for any type of reservation or any fee concession. The candidate should upload any one of the following documents along with the application, to prove Indian Citizenship.

  • a) True copy of the Birth certificate of the candidate, issued by a competent birth registering authority (Panchayat/ Municipality/ Corporation), showing the place of birth in any State or Union territory of India. OR
  • b) True copy of the relevant page of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate of the candidate, showing the place of birth in any State or Union territory of India. OR
  • c) True copy of the relevant page of the Passport of the candidate issued by the Government of India. OR
  • d) Certificate from a Village Officer or competent authority to show that the candidate is a native of any State or Union Territory of India in the prescribed format. In order to prove that a candidate is an Indian Citizen of Kerala origin, he/ she has to upload any one of the following documents during the submission of the online application.
  • a) The relevant page of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate of the candidate shows the place of birth in Kerala. OR
  • b) The relevant page of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate of either of the parents of the candidate showing the place of Birth in Kerala with a corroborative certificate to establish the relationship between the parent and the candidate. OR
  • c) The relevant page of the Passport of the candidate or of either of the parents of the candidate, issued by the Government of India, showing the place of Birth in Kerala. If the Passport of a parent is uploaded, the corroborative certificate is needed to establish the relationship between the parent and the candidate. OR
  • d) A certificate of birth from the authority competent to register birth (Panchayat/ Municipality/ Corporation) showing the candidates or either of the parents (in which case a corroborative certificate to establish the relationship between the parent and the candidate is necessary) place of birth in Kerala. OR
  • e) A certificate in the prescribed format from the Village Officer/ Tahsildar to show that the candidate or his/ her mother/father was born in Kerala.[This is to be obtained in the prescribed format given in Annexure VIII]

Academic Eligibility for Admission

  • a) Candidates seeking admission to the course should have passed the LLB examination (Five year/ Three-year course) with a minimum of 50% marks from any University in Kerala or any other University, recognized by the particular University in Kerala to which the college that the candidate desires to get admitted is affiliated, as equivalent thereto. If the colleges being considered by the candidate for admission are affiliated with different Universities, it’s the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the University and faculty from which he/she has obtained the degree are recognized by the Universities concerned. Otherwise, the candidate should obtain the required eligibility certificate from the Universities concerned, well in advance, as the time period for completing the admission process after announcing the allotment result may be inadequate to complete the formalities for obtaining an eligibility certificate.
  • b) Candidates who are appearing/appearing for the regular Final Year LLB Examinations can also apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Provisional/ Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

There is no upper age limit for admission to the LLM Course

Integrated Five-Year LLB

Nativity

The applicant should be an Indian Citizen. However, only those candidates who are of Kerala origin are eligible for any type of reservation or any of fee concession.

Academic Qualifications

  • The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or any other examination recognized by the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto.
  • A candidate who has passed an examination in a 10+2 Course of schooling recognized by the educational authority of the Central or State Government or possesses such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to such 10+2 course by the Bar Council of India can also apply for admission to the course. Applicants who have obtained a +2 Higher Secondary pass certificate or first-degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered eligible for admission. The applicants who have obtained 10 +2 or graduation/ post graduation through the open school system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission.
  • Candidates who are appearing/ appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the Pass Certificate and Mark List of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
  • No candidate shall be admitted to the Course unless he/ she has passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 45% marks. However, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes need only 42% marks and those belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes need only 40% marks in the qualifying examination. No rounding off of a percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is permitted.

Three-Year LLB Course

Nativity: The applicant should be an Indian Citizen. However, only those candidates who are of Kerala origin are eligible for any type of reservation or any fee concession. The candidate should upload any one of the following documents along with the application, to prove Indian Citizenship.

Academic

  • The candidate should be a graduate in any faculty of any University in Kerala or of any other University, recognized by the particular university in Kerala to which the college that the candidate desires to get admitted is affiliated, as equivalent thereto. If the colleges being considered by the candidate for admission are affiliated with different universities, it’s the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the university and faculty from which he/she has obtained the degree is recognized by the universities concerned. Otherwise, the candidate should obtain the required eligibility certificate from the universities concerned, well in advance, as the time period for completing the admission process after announcing the allotment result may be inadequate to complete the formalities for obtaining an eligibility certificate.
  • A candidate who has passed the Bachelor’s Degree examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (i.e., 45% marks for all the parts of the Degree Examination taken together) shall alone be eligible for admission to the Three-year LL.B course. However, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes need only 42% marks and those belonging to the Scheduled castes/ Scheduled Tribes need only 40% marks in the qualifying examination. No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is permitted. Applicants who have obtained a first-degree certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence methods shall also be considered eligible for admission.   • Candidates who are appearing/ appearing for the qualifying examination (regular examination of 2021-22 academic year) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce
    the Provisional/ Degree certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

KLEE 2024 Age Limit

Integrated Five-Year LLB

The applicant should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31.12.2024. The upper age limit for admission to the Integrated Five-year LLB Course will be subject to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. In case if age restriction under clause 28 of Legal Education Rules, 2008 of the Bar Council of India is reinstated, only those candidates within the stipulated age limit will be allowed to appear for the Entrance Examination.

Three-Year LLB Course

There is no lower age limit for admission to the Three-year LL.B course. The upper age limit for admission to the Three year LLB Course will be subject to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. In case if age restriction under clause 28 of Legal Education Rules, 2008 of Bar Council of India is reinstated, only those candidates within the stipulated age limit will be allowed to appear for the Entrance Examination.

KLEE 2024 Exam Pattern

LLM

The Entrance Examination for admission to the LLM Course 2024-23 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). The Questions of the Entrance Examination will be of objective type. The questions shall be of the standard of LLB Examination. There shall be two parts of 120 minutes duration.

Part A

  1. Jurisprudence (25 Questions)
  2. Constitutional Law (25 Questions)
  3. Law of Crimes (25 Questions)
  4. Law of Contracts (25 Questions)

Part B

  1. Public International Law (20 Questions)
  2. Administrative Law (20 Questions)
  3. Law of Property (20 Questions)
  4. Company Law (20 Questions)
  5. Interpretation of statutes (10 Questions)
  6. Law of Torts (10 Questions)

Integrated Five Year LLB

The Entrance Examination shall be a Computer Based Test (CBT) of two hours duration and will consist of 200 objective type questions in

  • (a) General English (60 questions)
  • (b) General Knowledge (45 questions)
  • (c) Arithmetic and Mental Ability (25 questions)
  • (d) Aptitude for Legal Studies (70 questions)

Three Year LLB Course

The Entrance Examination shall be a Computer Based Test (CBT) of two hours duration and will consist of 200 objective type questions in

  • (a) General English (60 questions),
  • (b) General Knowledge (45 questions),
  • (c) Arithmetic and Mental Ability (25 questions) and
  • (d) Aptitude for Legal Studies (70 questions).

KLEE 2024 Syllabus

LLM

The KLEE LLM Entrance Exam will be conducted from Part A from Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Law of Crimes, Law of Contracts, and Part B from Public International Law, Administrative Law, Law of Property, Company Law, Interpretation of statutes, Law of Torts.

Integrated Five Year LLB

Candidates who have applied for the LLB course should be prepared with topics like Arithmetic & Mental Ability, General Knowledge, General English, and Aptitude For Legal Studies.

Three Year LLB Course

The Exam for Three Year LLB Course will be conducted in General English, General Knowledge, Arithmetic and Mental Ability, and Aptitude for Legal Studies Subjects.
