AP PGLCET 2024 – Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: The candidate applying the test should be an Indian national.

Residential Status: Applicant must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh and meet all local / non-local status requirements set out in Andhra Pradesh Education Institutes.

Age limit – There is no age limit to appear in the postgraduate law entrance exam.

Educational Qualification: Applicants who apply for the AP PGLCET 2024 should have an LLB / B.L. diploma with a minimum of 50% mark in total. The required marks for different categories should be checked by applicants as follows:

AP PGLCET 2024 Exam Pattern

  • The AP PGLCET 2024 Exam consists of 120 questions
  • A total of 90 minutes will be allotted to complete the exam.
  • AP PGLCET 2024 will be for 120.
  • Part A will consist of 40 questions and 80 questions will be in Part B.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • The medium of the AP PGLCET exam will be in English only.
  • There will be no provision for negative marking.
  • The nature of the Questions will be Objective (MCQs).

The candidates should be thorough in jurisprudence, constitutional law, Public International law, mercantile law, labor laws, crimes and torts, IPR & other laws, etc., to score good marks in the AP PGLCET 2024 Exam. However, the concentration should be on the following.

Part- A

I) Jurisprudence

Schools of Jurisprudence – Sources of Law, Custom Precedent and Legislation,
Rights and duties – Ownership and Possession, Persons, Obligation, Property, Liability, Legal Sanctions.

II) Constitutional Law

Nature of the Constitution: Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State
Policy, Executive, Judiciary and Legislature, Center-State Relations, Emergency provisions, and Amendments to the Constitution.

III) Public International Law

International Law and Municipal Law, Subjects, State Territory, Air, Sea, and outer
space, Nationality and Statelessness, Extradition, Asylum, State Jurisdiction, United

IV) Mercantile Law

General Principles of Contract (Sections. 1-75, Indian Contract Act-1872).

V) Labour Law

Trade Union Act of 1926. Industrial Disputes Act of 1947.

VI) Crimes and Torts

Indian Penal Code -General Principles & General Exceptions. TORTS:
General principles of Tort, Defences, Joint liability, State liability for torts; Consumer Protection Act,1986

VII) IPR & Other Laws

Copy right Act, 1957; Patents Act, 2005; Environmental Protection Act, 1986;
Human Rights, The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, Salient features of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Right to Information Act 2005.
