Quantitative Ability
Objective: To judge the candidates’ ability to use the fundamental and standard procedure in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and other branches of mathematics and to ascertain logical thinking, accuracy, and speed in applying the basic skills of mathematics.
Number System, Percentage, ratio & proportion, time and distance, relative speed, time and work, HCF and LCM, exponents and roots, algebraic expressions, linear and quadratic equations, basics of trigonometry and coordinate geometry.
Elementary geometry based on angles, lines, polygons, solids, cylinders, perimeter, volume, circles, tangent to circle, sphere, etc.,
Elementary Statistics: Mean, Median, Mode, etc.
Problems based on Interest, discounts, selling price, cost price, and profit.
Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension
Objective: To test a candidate’s skill of quick comprehension and verbal ability – both of which reflect a person’s ability to understand facts faster than his/her peers and also his/her skill in organizing thoughts and expressing them in a clear manner.
Comprehension at paragraph and sentence level, identification of mistakes, grammar and usage, word formation, synonyms, antonyms, pairing of words, analogies, sentence structure, and construction, active and passive voice, prepositions, completion of sentences, Direct and Indirect Speech, Ability to use parts of speech correctly and in proper structures, tenses, etc.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Objective: To test the ability to interpret a given set of data for logical decision-making or similar applications. It checks the awareness of methods used in representing data and various techniques in the analysis and interpretation of data.
Sets – Union and intersection, frequency and class intervals, cumulative frequencies and various types of graphic diagrams used in interpretation, basic of probability, and permutation and combination Verbal reasoning, verbal analogy, letter series, number series, picture series, coding, decoding words & pictures association tests, frequency and class intervals, cumulative frequencies and various types of graphical diagrams.
Health Component (only for MBA-Hospital Administration in addition to above A, B, C, D):
Evolution of Public Health, Important Public Health Acts, Health problems of Developed and developing countries, health problems in India, Environment, and health, the concept of health and disease, the concept of epidemiology, health planning in India, National Health Policy and Goals
