Can You Study Abroad with Backlogs?

Backlogs refer to exams that were not successfully cleared in the initial attempt. The majority of international institutions in popular countries consider applications with backlogs as long as they are resolved before the commencement of the study program.

Introduction

Australian private universities typically allow a maximum of 7-8 backlogs, while Go8 universities accept 2-3 backlogs. Public institutions may accept an equal or lesser number of backlogs. It's important to note that Australian institutions consider the number of attempts as backlogs.

Effective planning saves time. Taking notes not only aids in memorization but also serves as a valuable revision resource during exams. Prioritize focus on weak topics, particularly those that are challenging to memorize or understand.

Tips to Manage Backlogs

When addressing backlogs to the admission committee, provide a clear justification. Emphasize extracurricular activities and genuine reasons in the Statement of Purpose (SOP). Be honest about the experiences during the period of backlogs. Additionally, ensure thorough preparation for the standardized admission test.
