UP Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate (12th Standard examination) or (10+2) or an equivalent exam recognized by the University for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986 will be eligible for admission.
2. The candidate should have passed and obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
3. English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for eligibility for admission in Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
4. Should be registered as a Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife (R.N.R.M.) with the State Nurses Registration Council.
5. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with the State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas: (O.T.Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing)
6. Colorblind candidates are eligible provided that color corrective contact lenses and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
7. The selection of candidates will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board appointed by the University. The decision of the Medical Board shall be final.

Reservation as per the State Govt. under the reservation policy and within the sanctioned number of seats by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and not above it.

• Any change in reservation policy will be followed as per the Uttar Pradesh State government directives.
• Reservation for disability (PH): 5% Horizontal reservation will be considered for disabled candidates with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to qualification will be the same as prescribed for Unreserved (UR) category candidates.
• NOTE: A committee will be formed consisting of a medical officer authorized by the Medical Board of State Government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidate has the disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50%.
• A caste certificate issued by ONLY the competent authority (Tehsildar) of the Uttar Pradesh Government is acceptable.
• EWSs quota of 10% is admissible provided a valid certificate is furnished which has been issued by competent authority (Tehsildar) of Uttar Pradesh Government.
• All the certificates should be issued on or after exam.
• The candidate has to ascertain his own eligibility based on the criteria above, otherwise, his/her claim for reservation will not be considered.
• Candidates are not supposed to send reservation-related certificates at the time of application, however, the onus of proving the correctness of the certificate is wholly on the applicant.
• If the information furnished by the applicant is found to be incorrect at this stage or at a later stage the applicant’s candidature or the applicant’s admission to that course shall stand canceled.
• Candidates must be medically fit. Additional medical checkups may be done before admission (the candidates who are on the merit list are required to submit a certificate of physical fitness from a registered medical practitioner.

• Candidates for the entrance test will have to pay a fee of Rs. 2200/- for Unreserved (UR)/OBC and Rs. 1800/- for SC/ST payable through the State Bank of India.

• Once the fee has been submitted there shall be no refund of the fee.
