Rajasthan JET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must ensure that he/ she is eligible for admission to desired courses before filling out the online application form for JET. If a non-eligible candidate is admitted due to any reason then the admission of such candidate will be canceled as soon as the mistake is detected even at a later stage and application and option form fees will be forfeited. Various eligibility criteria for admission through JET are as under:

Educational Qualification:

• Admission to B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B. Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B. Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B. Sc. (Hons.) Food Nutrition and Dietetics, B. Sc. (Hons.) Community Science/ Home Science, B. F. Sc. Fisheries Science, B. Tech. (Dairy Technology), B. Tech. (Food Technology)
• The candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan, Ajmer, or any other Statutory Board or any examination recognized equivalent to by the university in any of the combinations of following subjects in the Science/ Agriculture stream are eligible to appear in JET. Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics i.e. ABC, PCM, PCB, PCMB, PCA, etc.
• For Admission to B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.Tech. (Food Technology): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects are essential at the 10+2 level.
• Candidates with a 10+2 Arts and Commerce stream are not eligible for the JET Examination.
• Candidate may attempt any three subjects in the JET examination out of the above five. But those who want admission to B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech. (Food Technology) do not have any choice and must attempt only PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics).
• A candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in the aforesaid examination (10+2). A relaxation of 5% will be allowed to candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC (Non-creamy layer)/ MBC/ SAP/ EWS category. The candidates taking the advantage of 5% relaxation will not be considered in the UR category. Candidates having supplementary in the 10+2 Board Examinations-2024 will not be eligible for JET.
• The terms and conditions of the reservation policy as of the date of JET notification will be applicable
• Candidates who have appeared at any of the aforesaid qualifying examinations and whose results have not been declared before the commencement of the JET shall provisionally be allowed to appear in the JET. The marks sheet/result of the 12th (10+2) class examination with all the subjects passed, is essential at the time of filling out the options form, and it should be submitted at the time of reporting to the college.

AGE

The maximum age limit is 25 years as of 01.01.2024 i.e. the candidates born before 01.01.1997 are not eligible. The date of birth as mentioned in the Secondary Examination Marks Sheet/ Certificate will be considered authentic.

Rajasthan JET 2024 Entrance Exam Schedule

• JET will be conducted as per schedule from 11.00 AM to 1:00 PM on dated 14th May 2024 in selected cities of Rajasthan.
• The schedule of the test will be:- Reporting time at the examination center: 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
• Commencement of the examination: 11:00 AM No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination center, on the Date and Timings other than that allotted to them in their Admit card.
• End of Examination: 01:00 PM Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall during the examination.

Rajasthan JET 2024 Exam Pattern

• There would be a single question paper for all the candidates appearing in JET 2024 who want admission to different degree programs.
• The candidates desiring admission in the stream of Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Forestry/ Fisheries/ Food Nutrition and Dietetics/ Community Science may attempt any three subjects of their 10+2 stream.
• For admission in Dairy Technology and Food Technology, candidates must attempt Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
• The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi) and consist of multiple-choice-type questions. In case of any discrepancy, the English version will be considered correct.
• The question paper will be in the form of a test booklet containing five subjects viz. Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Each subject will have 40 multiple-choice questions.
• Marking scheme: Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer (A negative marking will be there). If more than one option is chosen or erased, it will be treated as the wrong answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unmarked/ unattempted questions.
• The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in this examination only.
• After obtaining the objections, if any question is found ambiguous or has ambiguous answers or correct answer more than one or no correct answer; such questions will be dropped and merit will be prepared after giving proportionate weightage based on obtained marks of remaining questions of respective subject.
