IMU CET 2024 Entrance Exam – Eligibility Criteria
For Under-Graduate Programmes
4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) – Residential:
- 10+2/ equivalent (PCM-Average: Minimum 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination)
- Marital status – Unmarried
4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) – Residential:
- 10+2/ equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) with a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in the 10th / 12th Examination
3-Year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) – Residential:
- 10+2/ equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination)
- Marital status – Unmarried
1-Year DNS course leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science) – Residential:
- 10+2 equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60%) with a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th Examination. OR
- B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Electronics with Physics as an individual subject in one of the years, with an average of not less than 55% of the marks in the final year. OR
- B.E./ B.Tech Degree from IIT or from a college recognized by AICTE with an average of not less than 50% of the marks in the final year
- Marital status: Unmarried
- Note: The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in English subjects in the 10th/ 12th/ Degree Examinations
3-Year BBA (Logistics, Retailing, and E-Commerce) – Non-Residential:
- 10+2/equivalent with a minimum of 60% of aggregated marks in any stream and a minimum of 50% marks in English subjects in the 10th / 12th Examination.
- Note: The percentage of the aggregate marks will be calculated by considering the marks scored in the English subject plus the marks scored in Major Subjects (excluding other languages).
3-Year Apprenticeship embedded BBA (Maritime Logistics) – Non-Residential:
- 10+2/ equivalent with a minimum of 60% of aggregated marks in any stream and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in the 10th / 12th Examination.
- Note: The percentage of the aggregate marks will be calculated by considering the marks scored in English subjects plus the marks scored in Major Subjects (excluding other languages)
For Post Graduate Programmes
2-Year M.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) – Residential:
- Engineering Graduate in Mechanical/ Civil/ Marine/ Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% in aggregate marks
2-Year M.Tech (Dredging and Harbour Engineering) – Residential :
- Engineering Graduate in Mechanical/ Civil/ Marine/ Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% in aggregate marks
2-Year M.Tech (Marine Engineering and Management) – Residential:
- BE / B.Tech in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture with at least 60% in aggregate marks from a recognized University OR
- Associate Member of Institution of Engineers Part A and B in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks (by examination). OR
- MEO Class, I Certificate of Competency issued by Govt. of India
- Note: Candidates with GATE Scores in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture are exempted from IMU’s CET, however, they will be considered only against the residuary seats, if any
2-Year MBA (International Transportation and Logistics Management) – Non-Residential:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% in aggregate marks from recognized universities and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / UG Degree
2-Year MBA (Port & Shipping Management) – Non-Residential:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% in aggregate marks from recognized universities and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th / UG Degree.
Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME):
- BE/ B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture with at least 50% marks in the final year from a recognized University/ AICTE approved Institute/ IIT with a minimum of 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam. OR
- Full-time BE/ B.Tech (with at least 50% marks in final year) in Mechanical Engineering Streams E.g. Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile, etc. However, the word “Mechanical” should be first indicating that Mechanical Engineering is the core and the second subject is elective with a minimum of 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in the Degree Exam OR
- Candidates who have a degree (with at least 50% marks in the final year) in all Naval Architecture streams
IMU Common Entrance Test 2024 – Application Fee
- For Research Programmes: Rs. 1000 for General / OBC (NCL) candidates; Rs. 700 for SC / ST candidates
- For BBA: Rs. 200 for General / OBC (NCL) candidates; Rs. 140 for SC / ST candidates
- For all other UG and PG courses: Rs. 1000 for General / OBC (NCL) candidates; Rs. 700 for SC / ST candidates
Note: The Application Fee for Registration is non-refundable and is for issuing of Rank Certificate. IMU reserves the right to adopt any method such as an Entrance Exam (IMU-CET)/ Normalisation based on entry qualification marks, etc. for issuing of Rank Certificate to qualified candidates.

Candidates shall upload the following documents at the time of Detailed Registration:

- Passport size photograph
- Signature of the candidate
- 10th Standard Mark Sheet
- 12th Standard Mark Sheet (wherever applicable)
- UG Degree Mark Sheet / Certificate (wherever applicable)
- MEO-I / COC Certificate (Applicable for candidates who are Seafarers)
- Community(Social Category Certificate in respect of SC / ST / OBC (NCL) candidates
- Economically Weaker Section Certificate in Respect of General EWS Candidates

- Registered Candidates then needed to log in

IMU CET Hall Ticket 2024
The CET candidates will be able to download the Hall Tickets. Automated e-mails/ SMS
will be sent to every registered applicant upon uploading of Hall Ticket. The Hall Ticket can be downloaded by the candidates. Hall Ticket download and Entrance test dates will be uploaded on soon at the IMU Portal. The candidates were needed to download the hall ticket and should take a hard copy of it to appear for the exam. Without the hall ticket, the candidates were not allowed to take up the entrance test.
IMU CET 2024 Result
The publication of the IMU CET Result 2024 on the IMU website. The final result will be published on the IMU website after the interview process. Once the authorities release the result, the candidates will get notified immediately through the registered e-mails/ phone numbers.
