GATE Exam Dates 2025
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. Examination for some of the papers in GATE 2025 may be held in multiple sessions. However, a candidate will be required to appear for the examination in ONLY one of the multiple sessions of the same paper.

GATE 2025 Exam Duration
All the papers for the GATE 2025 examination will be of 3 hours duration. Since the examination is a computer-based test (CBT), at the end of the stipulated time (3 hours), the computer screen will automatically close the examination inhibiting any further action. Candidates will be permitted to occupy their allotted seats 40 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination.
Candidates can log in and start reading the instructions 20 minutes before the start of the examination. The late login time (if any) recorded by the computer system MUST NOT be beyond 30 minutes from the actual starting time of the examination. Under NO circumstances, will a candidate be permitted to log in after 30 minutes from the actual examination starting time. Candidates will NOT be permitted to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination.
