AILET Eligibility

B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) [Five-Year Programme]

  • Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities).
  • The candidates appearing for the 12th standard annual examination are eligible to apply.

LL.M. Programme [One Year]

  • LL.B. or an equivalent law degree with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).
  • The candidates appearing for the final year LL.B. annual examination are eligible to apply.

Ph.D. Program

  • LL.M. or an equivalent law degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).

AILET 2022 – Total Seats

B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) [Five-Year Programme]

  • Total Seats: 110+10 (110 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/ PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/ OCI/ PIO are exempted from AILET but should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Additional Supernumerary Seats: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants and Two seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

LL.M. Programme [One Year]

  • Total Seats: 70+10 (70 Seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/ PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/ OCI/ PIO are exempted from AILET.

Note One additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants.

Ph.D. Program

Total Seats: 13+2 (13 Seats on AILET merit and 2 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit of Research Proposals). Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET.

Note: Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of the SC/ ST category are exempted from the application fee.

Steps To Apply For AILET 2022

  • Navigate to the official site @
  • The home page will appear on the screen.
  • Scroll down the page, and on the left side, you can see the “AILET Admissions 2022”.
  • Click on that link.
  • In that hit on the “New Registration” link.
  • Fill in the form with personal details, and upload the documents.
  • Verify the details.
  • Click on the submit button.
  • Choose the course you want to apply for.
  • You have to fill in the mandatory details in the application form.
  • Next, click on save and continue.
  • After that pay the application fee by using the credit/ debit card of the particular bank.
  • Download the application.
  • Finally, keep a xerox copy of AILET 2022 for future references.
